“My family has been coming to Vermont since my grandfather bought and old farmhouse back in 1947. My wife and I now have our own camp and continue to love spending time in the woods. We really didn’t know a lot about woodlot management but knew that we wanted to be good stewards of the land. When it became obvious that we needed help in managing our woodlot in Danville Vermont, we met up with Ryan Kilborn from Meadowsend Consulting.
Ryan was very gracious with his time and helped us through the process of clarifying our goals for our woodlot. When it came time to do a commercial thinning, he walked us through our options and helped us to choose a logger the best fit the work needed. He guided us through the process of establishing a contract with the logger, he categorized and marked the trees to be cut (and not cut) he oversaw the project and when the project was completed, he provided us with the necessary paperwork that was required by the state.
“My wife and I were extremely happy with all facets of the work and also the knowledge and professionalism that Ryan provided. We would highly recommend Ryan and Meadowsend Consulting!”

“My family and I have owned 60 acres of forest land for over 30 years. I am the primary steward of this property and have walked and snowshoed throughout the land for all these years. I was a “let nature take its course” in regard to any forestry work. Other family members suggestions and a walk through the property with the Grafton County forester convinced me of the need for an improvement harvest.
I chose three individuals in my area from the list of NH Licensed Foresters and walked the land and discussed approaches to a harvest with each.
I decided on Jeremy Turner of Meadowsend Timberlands Ltd. (MTL) of New London. Jeremy was kind enough and patient enough to let me tag along and ask questions as he and MTL Forester Matthias Nevins marked trees to cut, to save, skid trails and areas for logging equipment to avoid. In the brief time with them, I learned more about my property than I had from all those years of walking throughout. Their knowledge was amazing. The concern and care of the property dovetailed with my own. Together we developed a harvest plan that was productive for all parties, while aiming at an improvement of the forest future growth. I had the feeling that myself, MTL, along with a great logger suggested by MTL, were together as a team on this project.
The winter harvest, skidding to the landing area and trucking all the material out was completed in a very efficient operation with no hassle to neighbors or road conditions. Final clean up by the logger in the spring left me with access to all areas of the property via skid trails used during the harvest. This includes two areas opened with wonderful views, and a wildlife cut in an Aspen area that has already begun to attract abundant and varied visitors.
I am looking forward to increased enjoyment of the property utilizing the new trails created for hiking, snowshoeing and cross country skiing. All of this while watching the new growth of this improved forest take place.”

“We have worked with both Jeremy Turner and Laura French from MeadowsEnd Consulting company and have been totally satisfied with everything they have helped us with.
The process of creating and receiving a Forestry Management Plan from Laura was surprisingly easy, well thought out, and completely in alignment with our needs, values and prioritize. All our questions were clearly answered the plan was extremely well thought out.
Working with Jeremy on the contract and management of the Timber harvest was equally clear, thoughtful, and well handled. All our questions have been answered in a timely manner, the process has gone smoothly, and the care with which the actual work on the land has been done has been in alignment with our expectations and values. We will continue to use MeadowsEnd as we manage our 250 acres of lovely forest for enjoyment, wildlife, conservation, climate change, and timber value.”

“In early 2007, we engaged Meadowsend Timberlands, and Jeremy Turner, as our new managing forester. Jeremy inventoried our 335-acre tree farm property and updated our forest management plan.
In 2010, after the death of my husband, I relied on the guidance of Jeremy and the services of Meadowsend. We had been planning a 60-acre TSI and, in advance of that, built a 1/2 mile access logging road, supported by the NRCS. Jeremy oversaw that project, as well as the logging operation, finding the loggers and truckers who worked throughout the summer of 2012. We toured the work together and he handled all the associated paperwork.
Jeremy was ever-encouraging of my interest in maintaining a healthy forest and working to improve wildlife habitat. We planted apple trees and pollinator plants, and established wildlife openings.. After the 2012 job, we created a 5-mile network of recreational trails and opened up an amazing views cape. Laura French mapped the property and her trail map is now part of my Langwood Tree Farm Brochure.
I consulted Jeremy when two adjacent parcels went on the market. We walked the lands together and his advice was invaluable as I made the decision to expand the tree farm. Jeremy encouraged my ideas and offered his expertise as we collaborated on tree farm activities and forestry practices.
In 2023, I was honored as the Outstanding NH Tree Farmer of the Year. The team at Meadowsend Consulting, Jeremy Turner, Laura French, and Matthias Nevins, were integral to the achievement of this recognition and I look forward to our continuing relationship and collaboration for many years to come.”
